Welcome to Maija's Latvian Santa Claus website
These Latvian Santa Claus's are inspired by my Latvian heritage, and are
accessorized by all the wonderful memories of a Latvian Christmas; bacon rolls
(piragi), gingerbread cookies (pepparkukas), Gramma's knitted mittens and woven
belts, and the beautiful Latvian sun (saules) and star (auseklis) designs. These
unique Latvian Santa's are of the highest quality, truly a one of a kind heirloom, and no
two are ever the same.
I sculpt each face, individually, by hand, and each coat is hand made and trimmed
with genuine mink, fox, or raccoon. The beard and mustache are Tibetan lamb's wool
and provide a perfect look for an Old World Santa Claus. Mittens are hand knit and
belts are hand woven and inspired by Latvian designs. Wood accessories are
designed and woodburned with Latvian designs by my hand.
